Mining& Business Magazine : please introduce yourself and your company.
Giovanni Jolicoeur : My name is Giovanni Jolicoeur. I work for Valley, as the sales and marketing director. Valley is a company that was founded in 2017, and it took us 2 years to launch our product which is Valvita. It is the first mineral water which is produced here in Lubumbashi and it is 100% Congolese. Everything is produced locally and the water is quite different from every product we have on the market. It is the first one that is really refreshing that dehydrates and makes you feel light and you don’t need to take my word on it, you just need to drink a bottle of our Valvita water and experience it first hand, then you will see the difference.
M&B : What are some of the benefits that Valvita has compared to some of your competitors?
GJ : Our water is, as I have told you, the first one which is taken in a remote valley, where there is no civilization and no pollution of any kind. Our water is filtered with high technological machines and treatments using international standards and certified in Europe by big laboratories like Institut Pasteur.
Therefore, our product is even recognized in Europe as a high quality product. It is one of the best things that we have in Congo and I think the Congolese people should be proud to have one local product which is recognized internationally.
M&B : What are you looking forward to at this edition of the DRC mining week?
GJ : I am looking forward to people drinking and loving Valvita and being inspired by it. While making our product, we have taken into consideration that your health is what matters most to us and as such we have produced a mineral water that caters for all the important minerals that your body needs. We produce really nice things of international standards and norms in Congo such as Valvita. Valvita is more than a product: it is your daily companion that quenches your thirst at any time and at every stage of life. We want to inspire other entrepreneurs and bring high quality products to the RDC, with international standards as our benchmark.
