Edito of Mining and Business Magazine N°24
Anne, my sister Anne, don’t you see anything coming ?

As we close, it will be almost ninety days before a new government in the DRC is expected. And the growing impression that this crisis, which we thought was behind us, is still going on, is haunting investors more and more. But let us remain optimistic. The country has seen others and has always been able to recover.

In one of this issue, a king much more influential than some might think. His Majesty the Mwami, King of the Bayeke, does us the honour of expressing himself in our columns.

Coming up, the two major business events before the summer break. DRC Mining Week, in Lubumbashi, and French Week, in Kinshasa. M&B has two special reports on this subject.

Also in the spotlight, the First Lady, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, gave us a brief interview during the French Gastronomy Days in Kinshasa and Charlotte Kalala, who is preparing the 3rd Congo Na Paris exhibition, a showcase of Congolese culture and excellence in the French capital. And speaking of excellence, M&B presents the new units of Gécamines, which for the first time in a long time, produce a copper cathode that is more than 99% pure.

As news addicts, we devote our ‘finance’ pages to economic relations between the DRC and the United States, following the official visit of the Head of State to Washington. And our ‘behind the scenes’ will help you better understand the issues involved in the recent negotiations between the IMF and the DRC.

Finally, a word of encouragement to all our young people who will be under examination during this period.

Have a good reading!
