NGO Bumi a brighter future
Selected from over 1,500 candidates and the only winner on the African continent, Maman Thérèse stood out for her commitment and dedication to the cause of orphaned and vulnerable children in the DRC.

For nearly 30 years, Therese Ilunga and her husband Lucien Moser have been fighting to ensure that thousands of children in the DRC have the right to grow up with dignity and to carry a message of peace and hope. Today their lifelong commitment is rewarded. NEW YORK, September 17, 2019: World of Children®, an American organization internationally known as the “Nobel Prize for Children’s Advocates”, dedicated to rewarding people who devote their lives to serving vulnerable children, has officially announced its winners for the year 2019. For the first time in 22 years of existence, all the winners of the five award categories are women leaders involved in humanitarian action. 

The annual awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2019 in New York City in the presence of several hundred hand-picked VIP guests to pay tribute to these heroines who have made a significant difference in the lives of children around the world Maman Therese, founder of BUMI in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo, is one of them and will be awarded the 2019 Humanitarian Award. Selected from more than 1500 applications and the only winner on the African continent, Maman Therese's commitment and dedication to the cause of orphaned and vulnerable children in the DRC stood out.

 The NGO BUMI also impressed with its seriousness and gained credibility during the rigorous evaluation process carried out in the field. With this award, Maman Thérèse hopes to call on public and private actors, both national and international, to address the issue of street children, and abandoned, abused and exploited children deprived of education. She is appealing to each individual so that together we can build a better future. BUMI is sending an alert message to individuals and companies so that they can support them in their mission.
