After six years of service at the Central Bank of Congo (BCC), then as Economic Advisor of the Governor of Katanga Province, Augustin Katumba Mwanke, a graduate in economics decided to go into business. In 2001, he founded with three partners Trade Service, a design, tax consulting and facilitation firm which today employs more than a hundred people. He is also the President of the Employers of Katanga. In 2017, Eric Monga was the first ‘private’ Congolese to launch the construction of a Hydroelectric dam with a potential of more than 133Mw to absorb the massive energy deficit that the DRC is currently experiencing.
Co-founded by four Congolese partners, Trade Service is one of the few companies run by several nationals and whose success is exemplary.
Trade Service SARL, a company that operates in the field of services, was created to lift the burden from companies concerned about lengthy debates with public services. Expert in the field of mining, taxation, customs, etc., the company, which has several offices on the territory and representatives in South Africa, facilitates, advises and develops business relations with administrations or other institutions in the DRC.
